As of now we just dodged a bullet with Hurricane Ida. Our ranch and processing plant was spared any damage. It is with deep sadness that we see our fellow cattlemen down in Southeast Louisiana having to deal with these storm-related problems. We are in contact with several producers in the hardest-hit areas and we are gathering supplies for them.

Finally I had a chance to cut some hay in between rain showers. We should have enough to make it work for this winter. Our biggest concern besides the safety of our neighbors is the Processing Plant. Our plant is located south of Abbeville, which is along the Gulf coast and is prone to rising water. This makes us have to shift our production at the plant to make sure we do not have product in the freezers or coolers if we get a direct impact of a storm. Josh Mouton, our ranch manager, takes care of this. 

We are not out of the woods yet for this Hurricane season. However, we are part of a resilient and strong community that has the ability to band together in dark times. We will continue to do everything we can to help our friends and neighbors, and thank you for your continued support.

 Fall is around the corner and we are taking orders for the busy season at the store and Farmers Markets. Our whole, half and 1/4 calf sales have increased thanks to you, our loyal customers. GLC Processing is in full swing and we have been granted full state approval for inspected products for retail sales, meaning we can process anyone's product for labeling and sale in the retail stores. This will allow us to do more at the plant for our local producers, thanks to our team of Caleb Ramsey, Andy Thibideaux, and Mrs. Natalie Guilbeaux.
